The NPort® 5200 Serial Device Server enables immediate networking of industrial serial devices.
The small size of the NPort 5200 Serial Device Server makes it the best choice for connecting

serial devices (e.g., PLCs, meters, and sensors) to Ethernet IP LANs. Give your software direct access
to serial devices over a LAN or the Internet, anywhere. The NPort 5200 series has many useful features,
including standard TCP/IP communication protocols and mode selection, Real COM/TTY drivers for
existing software, and remote control of serial devices via TCP/IP or traditional COM/TTY interfaces.

Standard TCP/IP communication protocols and mode selection
The NPort 5200 device server can be operated as TCP Server,
TCP Client, UDP Server/Client, ensuring compatibility with standard network APIs (e.g., Winsock, BSD sockets).
Real COM/TTY drivers for existing software
Each NPort provides a Real COM/TTY driver that is designed to communicate with
the COM/TTY port and can be integrated with TCP/IP networks out of the box.
It’s a great way to protect your software assets while allowing you to enjoy
the benefits of connecting serial devices.
Remotely control serial devices via TCP/IP or traditional COM/TTY ports
By specifying the IP address and port number of the NPort 5200,
the Network Socket API can access connected serial devices over
the network from any host computer that supports TCP/IP.
Traditional Windows or Linux software based on COM or TTY,
Moxa’s COM/TTY driver enables it to operate over the network.
